2 Months in Buenos Aires... they brought me surprises, new people, an angel in my life, disappointments, one friendship lost (or maybe it was never really a friendship, I think I did well in stopping talking to her) and a certainty: I still love that place. I still want to live there. Will I be able to fulfill this dream one day?
Now, back to Rio de Janeiro, the skies are grey reminding me of the island I left one year ago, thinking I would be back soon. I never imagined the British Consulate would interfere in my life in such a strong way. Finally today, in the morning, they called me and granted me the visa I was applying for. Am I happy? I don't know. I am gaining something, but I am losing others. Which one is more important, I don't know. I just know I will be soon back to the UK.
Paul Hunter died. Some years ago I published a photo of him here when he won the snooker final against my Ronnie O'Sullivan. I said I loved both, and it was true, although I had a slight preference for Ronnie... Again, life plays me a trick and I would NEVER EVER imagine that some time later I would come here to announce his death. He would be 28 years old at 14 October, a libra like me. His smile used to brighten my day amongst that cold distant and grey England... and now he's gone, cancer won.
